Yakubu Karagama

Council Member

Yakubu is a Consultant Laryngologist at the Central Manchester University Hospital Department of Otolaryngology and Tameside Hospital. He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Edge Hill University and Foundation Year 2 Programme Director at Tameside Hospital. He leads the multidisciplinary specialist voice clinic at Central Manchester University Department of Otolaryngology, at Manchester Royal Infirmary and Tameside Hospital, where he is the founder and course director for Manchester International Phonosurgery course.

He obtained an MSc in Advance Voice Research at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne in 2005 and has presented his research and won prizes at national and international conferences, including the British Association Conference of Otolaryngologist (BACO). He has authored and co-authored over 25 publications. As part of his interest in training and development in the field of laryngology, he has organised instructional laryngological workshops both in the UK and overseas.
