BLA Study Day: inaugural event in Edinburgh

The BLA’s first ever Edinburgh Study Day attracted 50 local, national and international participants to a state-of-the-art overview of the latest research and findings in laryngology. The meeting’s location at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh provided an inspirational backdrop for the course on 24 March, 2017.

“We were extremely pleased with the interaction and discussion on the day,” says course convener and BLA Council Member Sam Majumdar, Laryngologist and Consultant Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon at Ninewells Hospital and Medical School, Dundee.  “We felt that we were really able to update local clinicians with the latest information and stimulate discussion on a variety of important topics.”

Based on the success of this initial meeting, the BLA plans to plans to hold major events at the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in the future.

The BLA, whose membership is open to all medical, scientific and health-focussed professionals interested in diseases of the throat, runs several study days each year as well as an Annual Meeting and the Cutting Edge Laryngology conference in alternate years.
