Dr Nikki Mills

Nikki completed her Medical and ENT Specialty training in New Zealand. She went on to complete Fellowship Training in Paediatric Ear Nose & Throat Surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London in 2009. Since her return to NZ she has been a full time Consultant at Starship Children’s Hospital, with a special interest in Paediatric Airway, Swallowing disorders and research in Otitis Media.
Nikki is involved in national working groups on Paediatric Sleep Disordered Breathing and Simulation Education in Surgery. She is Faculty on several teaching courses for the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and has directed regular Paediatric Airway Simulation Courses in New Zealand.
Nikki leads a Multidisciplinary Dysphagia clinic at Starship. She has longstanding links with the Anatomy Department at University of Auckland School of Medicine, and she is currently doing research towards a Doctorate in The Functional Anatomy of Sucking and Swallowing in Breastfeeding Babies.
