Choice for Voice 2020 POSTPONED


Quick BVA update, as many may have expected, Choice For Voice (September 2020) in Leeds has been suspended due to the uncertainty around travel restrictions for speakers and delegates. Plans are to keep our current itinerary if possible and work towards September 2021 as a pencilled in timeframe.  We will keep you updated once a new date has been finalised

Call for Papers, Workshops and Posters (deadline Friday 8 November 2019)

The British Voice Association (BVA) is now inviting submissions for papers, workshops and posters for their upcoming conference ‘Choice for Voice 2020’.

The conference will take place at: Leeds College of Music 4 – 6 September 2020 The focus will be on multidisciplinary approaches to health, performance, and research in the field of voice.

The programme will include presentations from keynote speakers’ workshops, free papers, masterclasses, posters and an exhibition. Free papers should be no longer than 12 minutes plus 3 minutes for questions and comments. Please note that a presentation should not be read from text. Workshops should last no longer than 45 minutes and may be repeated to increase the potential number of delegates able to participate.


All submissions will be reviewed by a team of multidisciplinary professionals. The outcome will be communicated to you by Friday 28 February 2020.

Key areas for discussion include physical and mental wellbeing for voice users, voice and the workplace, and crossing genre boundaries in pedagogy and performance. However, abstracts are invited on all topics relating to the field of voice.
