Sam Majumdar

Council Member

Sam Majumdar is a founding member of the British Laryngology Association and served on the council since 2013. He is a Laryngologist, full-time Consultant Surgeon and a Reader (hon) at the University of Dundee Medical School & Ninewells Hospital NHS Scotland. He is the lead clinician for Laryngology & voice, swallowing disorders (Transnasal Oesophagoscopy/Endoscopy) and difficult airway service at this centre, which he & his team had developed.

Sam Majumdar graduated in Medicine from the University of Nottingham Medical School after having substantial training in Maxillofacial surgery and obtaining Fellowship of the Faculty of Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. Sam Majumdar is passionate about teaching and training. He is the innovator and co-director of the highly acclaimed Advanced Laryngeal & Pharyngeal laser & endoscopic Surgery course at the Dundee Healthcare Simulation Centre https://medcourse.co.uk/course/thiel-cadaveric-advanced-laryngeal-pharyngeal-laser-endoscopic-surgery-workshop-dihs-2023-03-08/

Sam Majumdar is a Fellow of the Scottish Patients Safety Programme delivered by the Health Improvement Scotland. He is also the Deputy Lead for Scotland for Quality Improvement (Faculty of Medical Leadership and Management). he has published widely in the medical literature and peer reviewed journals; presented the national and international academic and given invited & key notes speeches. He has published widely in the medical literature on all aspects of ENT surgery and is co-author of chapters on seminal textbooks.
