BLA LARYNGOLOGY PROCEDURES PRIORITISATION (ADULT)

During the current Covid-19 epidemic, I am sure we have all had restrictions on the type of surgical work we can carry out.  ENT-UK has been working with the RCS to establish priority categories for different procedures across the whole gamut of surgical specialties.  I have attached the document we have produced covering adult laryngology.  BAPO will produce the list for paediatric procedures.

Although all of our procedures would fall into the high-risk category, use of hot or powered instruments (laser, coblation, diathermy, microdebrider etc) would be at particular risk of aerosol generation.  Continuous endoluminal plume / aerosol aspiration would be strongly advised if you feel an individual case requires the use of one of these techniques.
